We pride ourselves in the skilled and dedicated workforce of Robert Sorby. Let
us introduce some of the stars to you...
The boss. Peter has been with Robert Sorby since 1991. In addition to
being responsible for the overall management and direction of the business,
he has specific responsibility for international sales and marketing.
A graduate in modern languages, Peter has spent most of his working life
in the tool field particularly in overseas countries. He is a regular
visitor to customers and exhibitions in North America and Australia.
Son of Geoff, Philip has been a Robert Sorby employee since 1980. In
the intervening period he has done most jobs around the factory. Today
he is production manager for all Robert Sorby hand tools - turning tools,
chisels- as well as the Robert Sorby lathe. Along with his father, Philip
is also and integral member of the product development team. He learned
to turn with Phil Reardon, a prominent English turner.
Like a number of his predecessors, Chris joined Robert Sorby after having
been a customer for many years. One of Chris' great passions is woodturning
which has been a hobby for a number of years. He is an active member of
the Somerset Woodturners Club and can now be seen promoting Robert Sorby
tools in the South of England.
Every good company has its general factotum who has their fingers in
every pie. That is Lindsey's role. Essentially responsible for the smooth
running of the office. Lindsey looks after all the orders - and hounds
those who do not pay !!! If you do ring us, the chances are that her's
will be the first voice you hear.
Clive is Robert Sorby's Product Manager. A keen woodturner, he was a
founder member of the Glossop Woodturners Club and remains an active member.
Like Chris and Tony, Clive was a user of Robert Sorby tools before becoming
an employee.
