We pride ourselves in the skilled and dedicated workforce of Robert Sorby. Let us introduce some of the stars to you...
Peter Gill
The boss. Peter has been with Robert Sorby since 1991. In addition to being responsible for the overall management and direction of the business, he has specific responsibility for international sales and marketing. A graduate in modern languages, Peter has spent most of his working life in the tool field particularly in overseas countries. He is a regular visitor to customers and exhibitions in North America and Australia.
Philip Proctor
Son of Geoff, Philip has been a Robert Sorby employee since 1980. In the intervening period he has done most jobs around the factory. Today he is production manager for all Robert Sorby hand tools - turning tools, chisels- as well as the Robert Sorby lathe. Along with his father, Philip is also and integral member of the product development team. He learned to turn with Phil Reardon, a prominent English turner.
Chris Pouncy
Like a number of his predecessors, Chris joined Robert Sorby after having been a customer for many years. One of Chris' great passions is woodturning which has been a hobby for a number of years. He is an active member of the Somerset Woodturners Club and can now be seen promoting Robert Sorby tools in the South of England.
Lindsey Reynolds
Every good company has its general factotum who has their fingers in every pie. That is Lindsey's role. Essentially responsible for the smooth running of the office. Lindsey looks after all the orders - and hounds those who do not pay !!! If you do ring us, the chances are that her's will be the first voice you hear.
Clive Brooks
Clive is Robert Sorby's Product Manager. A keen woodturner, he was a founder member of the Glossop Woodturners Club and remains an active member. Like Chris and Tony, Clive was a user of Robert Sorby tools before becoming an employee.
Dave Green
After several years running the company’s finances Dave now heads up our retail division, Turners Retreat
Paul Richmond
Paul's previous experience includes a long period spent at Jacobs Chucks. Nowadays he is responsible for technical advice and after-sales service on Nova wood lathes and chucks.
