If your lathe does not have a built-in indexer then it will be difficult to produce regular patterns on your work. The Robert Sorby Indexing System can be fitted almost every lathe. It enables accurate 24-position indexing which allows the turner to produce a myriad of evenly spaced decorations.- whether carved, or burnt or inlaid. The indexing wheel fits over the spindle nose of the lath. Consequently there are different sizes to fit different spindle nose diameters from 5/8" upwards.
