A Centre Steady is a convenient way of keeping long, thin items straight and prevents them from flexing in the middle. Billiard cues, long balustrades, and thin spindles are all prone to move because of the lack of support. The Robert Sorby Centre Steady is designed to counter-act this problem. Made from heavy section steel, it features three independently adjustable fingers which will hold work pieces with diameters between 1/8" and 4". The bearing on the fingers have been specially developped to eliminate any burning of the wood. Adjustable for height. Available in three sizes depending on distance over bed bars.
