The new Box Hollower (ref 803H) from Robert Sorby comes with a flat shank which gives the tool great stability on the tool rest. It comes with a specially designed interchangeable HSS tip for side and end cutting. This makes it an effective hollower of flat-bottomed and straight-sided. The tip is sharpened with a diamond file.

Other tips - like the Mushroom Tool and Captive Ring - will also fit the same shank.
